What You Need to Get Started
- A ChatGPT Plus account: NutriLog is powered by a custom GPT assistant.
- A NutriLog web account: for secure storage and visual tracking of your data.
- A desire to change: through consistent calorie tracking and daily effort. NutriLog is a tool that helps GPT help you.
How to Begin
After registration, you'll enter your dashboard where you can visually track the data your
Assistant logs for you.
Open the custom GPT chat on your phone or in the browser.
3. Start the Conversation
Click on "Help me get started".
4. Introduce Yourself
Say something like: "Hi, I'm Alex. I'm a 52-year-old man, currently weighing 194 pounds and
5 feet 9 inches tall."
5. Set Your Goal
For example: "I want to reach 170 pounds by the end of June."
The Assistant will ask to save your goal in the Journal. You’ll need to authorize the GPT
chat to do so.
6. Authorize the Assistant
Allow GPT chat to read from and write to your NutriLog Journal.
7. Grant Data Access
GPT will request permission to send data to external servers. For convenience, we recommend
choosing "Always Allow".
8. The Assistant Logs Your Data
The Assistant uses its available tools to record your info — your goals, current and target
weight — into your Journal.
9. Tell the Assistant What You Eat
For example: "Just had an ice cream for breakfast, about 100 calories."
The Assistant will log your foods and their calorie content in your Journal.
10. Review Your Intake
Just ask: "Remind me what I had today."
The Assistant will fetch your data for the day or a date range. It can show weight
progress, analyze calorie trends, break down macronutrients, and provide tips.
Tips for Success
- Talk to your Assistant like a partner. This is a conversation — not a form.
- Be open and specific — the Assistant will listen, clarify, and store what matters.
- NutriLog works when you do. It's not a shortcut, but a system that keeps you focused and disciplined.
